Regent Santa Monica Beach, a part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury portfolio, has officially opened. The beachfront resort marks the return of the Regent brand to the United States, with its first flagship property in the Americas.
Located near the renowned Santa Monica Pier, the resort reintroduces the Regent name to Los Angeles. The original Regent was situated in Beverly Hills and famously featured in the film Pretty Woman. The new resort aims to provide a unique blend of timeless elegance and modern luxury. It offers spacious guestrooms and suites, public spaces, restaurants, and an elevated pool deck overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
Younes Atallah, General Manager of Regent Santa Monica Beach, expressed excitement over reintroducing the Regent brand to Southern California. The resort aims to provide a serene setting for guests to disconnect and experience Regent’s renowned hospitality.
Chantell Walsh of Strategic Hotels & Resorts led the design of the resort in partnership with innovative design firms. The San Francisco studio of AvroKO drew inspiration from luxury fashion and the natural beauty of the ocean. Wimberly Interiors designed the resort’s guestrooms and suites, emphasizing serenity and incorporating the soothing hues of the Pacific Ocean.
The resort features 167 guestrooms and suites, most offering panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and Santa Monica Beach. The rooms have various amenities, including a Refreshment Gallery with curated snacks and beverages, spa-like bathrooms, and a dedicated dining and workstation.
Guests at the resort can personalize their stay with the assistance of a Regent Experience Manager, who can curate all aspects of a guest’s stay based on individual preferences.
Regent Santa Monica Beach features four dining destinations, including Orla and Orla Bar by James Beard Award-winning chef Michael Mina, and Sweet July Café, founded by entrepreneur Ayesha Curry.
The resort also offers a 10,000-square-foot Guerlain Wellness spa with 12 treatment rooms and various amenities. An outdoor pool named Azure Pool overlooks the beach and has a large, state-of-the-art Fitness Center.
The opening of Regent Santa Monica Beach marks a new era for the Regent brand, which joined IHG Hotels & Resorts in 2018. More openings are planned in the coming years, including Regent Jeddah in 2024 and Regent Kyoto in 2025.
Rooms at Regent Santa Monica Beach start at $1,100 per night. Guests can earn and redeem points through IHG One Rewards, the brand’s loyalty program.
